The packaging materials are then recovered for recycling, so that nothing recyclable need go to landfill or incineration.

We are the only UK food waste recycling company equipped with an optical sorter, enabling us to recover all rigid plastic packaging and separate it by type for recycling.

Metal cans and trays

Metal packaging is key in a circular economy. For example, making new cans from recycled material is 20 times more energy efficient than making them from scratch. Everything we receive is sorted by packaging type upon arrival, to ensure that each raw material is recovered efficiently.

Cardboard boxes and sleeves

Although our plant is mostly automated, cardboard packaging is often removed and recovered by hand, to ensure that it remains in optimum condition for recycling.
